Academy Award Winning Director/Animator
Patrick graduated in 2003 from Ringling College of Art and Design with a BFA in Computer Animation. Soon after graduation, Patrick took a job as an animator at Sony Pictures Imageworks where he animated on an assortment of films including I am Legend and Surf’s Up. In 2008 he moved on to Disney Animation Studios where he animated on Bolt, Tangled, and Wreck it Ralph, and acted as head of animation on the Oscar winning short animation Paperman. After 9 months as co-head of animation on Big Hero 6, Patrick was green-lit to direct his own short animation Feast which took home the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film in 2015. Patrick recently wrapped on his Google VR short PEARL and is slated to direct BATTLING BOY for Paramount and NIMONA for Fox Animation.
Patrick will discuss the creation of his short FEAST while at Disney Feature Animation and his transition into life independent of a studio. This will cover idea generation, emerging formats like VR, and the Hollywood pitching process.
